Leadership Team Coaching & Organizational Consulting
Innate Leaders ran a three day session for the OPCW’s ten global directors at their headquarters in The Hague.
Having eliminated 95% of the worlds declared chemical weapons, OPCW had some challenging times ahead in terms of reducing the size of the organization.
Focusing on a leadership mindset we helped the OPCW on two fronts: moving from working as a group of individual directors to working, thinking and communicating as an effective, cohesive leadership team; and helping them formulate a plan to communicate the difficult and time-critical message of reduction to OPCW personnel.
Over the three days, the team were able to identify and assess their individual strengths, limiting beliefs and assumptions, as well as their current communication processes. Using interactive exercises together with soft skill tools, the directors were able to formulate a plan, identify the pitfalls, explore creative solutions and ultimately create a robust action plan for execution. The now thriving directors ‘team’ had the opportunity to present their detailed plan to the Director General, and demonstrated unity, consistency and support for the plan and each other in the process.
The workshop was complimented by a commitment to on-going director team forums, initiated within the workshop by Innate Leaders, and continued post course.
A month after our work William S. S. Amoroso, Director Administration Division, Organization for the OPCW, said, “What was supposed to be a simple leadership tutorial quickly turned into a phenomenal three-day intervention. The flexibility Innate Leaders demonstrated helped the group to gel as a team and work together to address the common issue of getting buy-in from staff on the transformation of our organizational structure in light of our future goals and objectives… thank you once again for your support.”
